Welcome to the Bedford Blues Touch League              

The season has finished for another year with some great touch rugby on show. It was another busy summer with 24 teams participating each Wednesday in the League, with social touch rugby (for men and women) taking place Monday evenings May to the end of August. In the Bedford Touch Winners v Northampton Touch Winners, Towcester RFC beat A Touch Overrated (Bedford) 7 - 4 in a keenly contested match, both teams showed great skill but Towcester just had a bit too much pace for the Bedford side.

At the present time I am looking at running some touch rugby sessions in March 2011 leading into the Summer Touch League, as soon as the sessions are confirmed details will be up on the website.

Finals night. The winners were...

Elite - A Touch Overrated, Division 2 Bedford Swifts, Division 3 Vets & Jets, Division 4 No Surrender.

A great evening of touch rugby took place at the home of the Bedford Blues on Wednesday, July 14th. With numerous teams turning up to play their placing matches, followed by some fast and competitive finals. The awards were presented by Mark Howe, a director at the Blues and supporter of the touch tournament over the last ten years. Well done to the referees throughout the 12 week season and for officiating on the finals night.

A big thank you goes to Sam Roberts on the pa system, which brought the evening together, also to Matt Spavins for his support over the season.  Alan Harper Smith at RAS data for responding so quickly when help was needed with the website.    

Finally thank you to Andy and Mike at the Bedford Blues for the use of the ground and facilities, also for the Bedford Blues Player of the week award, I know the winners are looking forward to using those tickets during the coming season.  

Player of the season was Adam Rawlinson of Beefeaters.
